Edward Lloyd (they/them) is an artist-researcher whose practice moves between choreography, writing and drawing.

Their work investigates queering as a method, and how this generates ways of moving, thinking and belonging that work within-and-against established structures.

Current research includes Fluxing— which uses autoethnography and dance improvisation to investigate the labour of coordinating multiple identity positions across institutions, and BODYBODYBODY— an ongoing research project into how collective somatic practice generates situated knowledge of queer embodiment.

Their work has been published in APRIA: Platform for Research Interventions of the Arts (ArtEZ), and has been presented at ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival (AT), Marres House for Contemporary Culture (NL) and Veem House for Performance (NL).

Edward has performed and developed work with Marina Abramović, LA(HORDE), Ula Sickle, Boris Acket, and Jennifer Tee, among others. Their most sustained collaboration has been with Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten at ICKamsterdam, where they toured extensively and worked as Rehearsal Director.

They have taught at several artistic institutions including Amsterdam University of the Arts, ArtEZ University of the Arts, Fontys Academy of the Arts, Royal Academy of Art The Hague, and University of St. Gallen.

Edward is currently collaborating as a performer with Amsterdam-based choreographers Clarinde Wesselink and Elisa Zuppini.
