Forest Rave

Forest Rave is an ongoing series of participatory performances exploring themes of ritual, ecological kinship and collective transformation.

Participants connect via headphones to a live DJ set by a local artist and are invited to choose a tree as their rave partner. The performance begins and ends with a collective ritual and guided meditation.

Forest Rave frames raving as a contemporary ritual, allowing for altered states of consciousness to emerge through playfully re-examining our relationship with nature.

The performance foregrounds ideas of relationality and co-creation. Participants become co-authors of the performance shifting the focus from spectacle to somatic encounter. The work invites reflection on alternative ways of being together, entangling personal and communal identities with the more-than-human world.
